Luckily, Bright’s practice management software now includes a time tracking feature to help you do exactly this.
Tracking time with AccountancyManager
We understand the struggle of tracking time effectively – between notebooks and spreadsheets, there can be a lot of admin to keep tabs on. Along with that, tracking your time in lots of different locations isn’t efficient either. Ideally, you’d have all your team’s time tracked in one central location. By keeping an accurate record of your team’s time, you can ensure the accuracy of the time you’ve billed for tasks and building trust and accountability along the way. Plus, who doesn’t love a reduction in admin? With AccountancyManager, logging hours and monitoring progress is already a breeze, but with our latest adjustment to the time recording feature, it’s never been easier.

A simple but effective tweak by AccountancyManager
We’re excited to announce that the latest AccountancyManager update transforms our time tracking page into a more innovative button at the bottom of the screen. This ensures that you can keep working uninterrupted, without breaking your flow.
Time logging in AccountancyManager
Previously, creating a new time log required hovering over the “Time” tab in the menu and clicking into “New Time Log”. But with our latest update, we’ve removed this section from the dropdown. Now, the “New Time Log” option has been revamped into an innovative button at the bottom left corner of your screen, making it easily accessible (we’re talking just one click away) from any part of the software. This way, you and your colleagues can start a new time log anytime, instantly and effortlessly – no more navigating the dropdown or opening new tabs.
While our “New Time Log” button and page will be unavailable, you’ll still be able to see your current time recordings in Live Team View, WIP, and logged time will still sync to your timesheets as normal.
From this image, you can see the time recording feature is now located in the bottom left corner. Click this to begin tracking your next time log.
When clicked, a handy new recording box will pop up. From there, all you need to do is fill out a quick task description, your client, the task and the type of work, and you can start tracking your time.
Once you click “Add” you can click on the blue play button and the time will start recording. You can pause when you need to step away (because who wants to miss lunch?), save and delete your time recordings as needed. If you want to add a time log on a specific task, no worries – you can still access the time button on a task in the task list, and the same widget will pop up as above – simples.
