What is
Auto-Enrolment?
Auto-enrolment is a new retirement savings scheme in Ireland for employees who do not already have a workplace pension. It automatically enrols eligible workers into a pension plan with contributions from the employee, employer and State to boost retirement income.
- Eligible workers: aged 23-60, earning €20,000+ a year, without existing pension coverage.
- Contributions: gradually increase, with employer and State matching employee payments.
- Pension pot: workers retain a “pot-follows-member” pension account that moves with them.
