At Bright, one of our core brand values is “Look for a Brighter Way.” And while yes, these words are proudly displayed on our walls, they are far more than just decorative slogans; they capture our ongoing commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.

We take pride in constantly enhancing our products. While we’re grateful for the positive feedback we regularly receive (thank you!), and we see daily how our software helps improve the working lives of our customers, we also know there’s always room for improvement. Perfection may be a moving target, but we never stop striving for it.

Customer feedback is essential in this journey. We may know our products inside and out, but our users understand how they perform in real-world, day-to-day scenarios.

User insights help us identify what’s working, what could be better, and where to make meaningful improvements.

A great example of this is our recent update to the BrightManager task list — a change directly influenced by user feedback.

Users wanted something cleaner, more efficient and more accessible. That’s why the new Task List is redesigned to help manage workflow, streamline communication, and get more done, in fewer clicks.

Stay in the flow with the new side panel

We know that constantly switching views kills productivity. That’s why we’ve rethought the expandable card. Now, with the new side panel view, you can check and update task details without leaving your place in the list. No more opening new tabs or losing your spot, just smooth, uninterrupted workflow.

Power through with bulk actions

We’re all about reducing admin fatigue, and bulk actions now make that easier than ever. Whether you’re marking tasks complete, reassigning them to teammates, or clearing out your to do list, users can now action multiple tasks in just a few clicks, without having to scroll all the way to the top.

A brighter way to work

The first thing you’ll notice? Colour. Not just any colour, but purposeful, eye-catching accents that help you instantly recognise deadlines, priorities, and progress. Gone are the days of muted palettes and hard-to-read contrasts, your feedback helped us craft a visual experience that’s not only easier on the eyes but also easier to navigate.

As one user put it:

“I like that it’s one clean look with extra colours. Looks very positive so far.”

We’ve made key indicators like Target Date and Deadline much more visible, especially when time is tight. Because when you’re juggling multiple clients and projects, visual clarity is everything.

See more, scroll less

Another common frustration we heard? Not being able to view enough tasks on screen without endless scrolling. We’ve tackled that head on. The new layout is more compact, which means you can now see more tasks at once, helping you stay on top of your day without losing momentum.

And with improved alignment and spacing, task details are easier to scan at a glance. One user shared,

“It seems to work a lot better now you can see more tasks… This is crucial for me and my team.”

See what you want to see, with column filters

With this new feature, you can now customise your task list to show exactly the information you need. Whether it’s Progress Notes, Workflow Progress, or other key details, you’re in control of how your task list looks.

You can choose to show or hide the following columns:

  • Assignees
  • Deadline
  • Workflow Progress
  • Progress Note
  • Latest Action
  • Target Date

Listening to feedback users told us that not being able to view Progress Notes in the main task list disrupted your workflow. This update is designed to help you stay more organised and efficient—without needing to switch back to previous versions of the task list.
