Tailored payment schedules
Process weekly, fortnightly, 4-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly payment schedules. Run multiple payment schedules side-by-side with one-click access to any pay period. Add unlimited payments, additions, deductions, and attachment orders to a payslip and assign an employee to one or multiple departments.
Easy payslip distribution
Payslips can be emailed, printed, exported to PDF, or automatically sent to employees’ self-service portals in BrightPay Connect. Payslips can be tailored to add/remove certain information on the payslip. For example, add a company logo or remove the payment method details.
Revenue compliant
BrightPay is Revenue compliant and includes full functionality for PAYE Modernisation. It simplifies compliance with updates available as any legislation changes happen, and in-software notifications to guide you. Retrieve Revenue Payroll Notifications (RPNs) and send Payroll Submission Requests (PSRs) seamlessly each pay period.
Customised reports
BrightPay includes a flexible report builder where you can create customised reports. Choose from over 100 data items and select which employees to include in a report. They can be printed, exported to PDF, or saved for future use. Reports can also be made automatically available on our online employer dashboard, BrightPay Connect.
Accounting software integration
BrightPay includes payroll journal API integration with several accounting packages, including BrightBooks, Xero, Sage Business Cloud Accounting, QuickBooks Online, and many more. This allows users to send the payroll journal directly to their bookkeeping software through BrightPay.
Pay employees through BrightPay
Get ultimate convenience with real-time, 24/7 payments using BrightPay’s integration with payment platform Modulr. It’s a fast, secure, and easy way to pay employees. If payments are submitted before 2:00 pm, it will land in employees’ bank accounts on the same day. There’s no need to create bank files or become a Bacs Approved Bureau. In BrightPay, you can also choose to pay employees by credit transfer, cheque or cash.
Benefit in kind
PAYE, USC and PRSI must be operated by employers in respect of the taxable value of most benefits in kind and other non-cash benefits provided by them to their employees. BrightPay allows you to process all types of benefits that you provide to your employees.
Multi-user access
BrightPay licences can be installed on up to 10 PCs. This means that payroll processing is possible by up to 10 users, or from 10 different locations. When used alongside BrightPay Connect, the software will automatically alert you if another user is in the file to prevent the risk of conflicting copies. BrightPay also reminds you to use the most up-to-date version of the file if it detects multiple connected payroll files.
Safe and secure
All payroll data for an employer is contained in a single file for simple backup and transfer. Sensitive data is encrypted in the employer file. Employer files can be optionally password protected and stored on a cloud file sync service, such as Dropbox, OneDrive or Google Drive – giving you access to the employer files from multiple PCs. Payroll data can also be automatically backed up to a secure online server every 15 minutes, using BrightPay Connect.
BrightPay Connect
BrightPay Connect is a cloud extension to BrightPay, offering automatic cloud backups, an online employer portal, a bureau dashboard, and an employee self-service app. It enables employers to link payroll and HR in a way they never thought possible, with HR document distribution, an employee leave management tool, and much more.
Getting started with BrightPay
BrightPay allows you to bring across your company and employee details from various payroll packages, such as Moneysoft, Sage and many more. Switch at the beginning of the tax year, in the middle of the tax year, or continue partway through the tax year from migrated payroll records.
Ready for automatic enrolment
The Irish Government has set the date of January 2025 for auto-enrolment to be rolled out in Ireland. This means employers will be required to enrol employees into a workplace pension scheme and make contributions towards the employees’ pension fund. BrightPay will include full auto-enrolment functionality. We have the experience to guide you through the process after rolling out a similar system in the UK in 2012.

Automatic cloud backups
When you link an employer to BrightPay Connect, it automatically synchronises to a secure Microsoft Azure server, saving your payroll data to the cloud every 15 minutes or each time you close down an employer file. BrightPay Connect maintains a chronological history of your backups, which can be restored at any time.
Employee self-service app
With BrightPay Connect, employees have access to their own self-service portal. Through the portal, they can access a payslip library, read HR documents, request leave, and update their personal details.
Online client portal (Bureau users only)
Clients get access to an online client portal where they can run payroll reports, approve a payroll run and submit payroll information to their accountant. Clients can also access employee payslips and personal details, upload HR documents, manage their employees’ leave and much more.
Access to payroll reports
Get instant access to reports that have been set up on the payroll software, on the BrightPay Connect secure online dashboard. Reports can be viewed online or downloaded as a PDF or CSV file. You can view amounts due to Revenue and a breakdown of how these amounts are calculated.
Annual leave management tool
BrightPay Connect users will receive notifications when an employee requests leave. Log in from anywhere to approve or reject the leave request within seconds.
HR document upload
Share documents with individuals, teams, or the whole company. Upload an individual’s contract of employment, performance, or training records. Circulate team plans, training material or memos. Distribute the company handbook, including all policies and procedures.
Client payroll entry and upload tool (Bureau users only)
Send payroll requests to clients with BrightPay Connect. Clients can then enter any payroll information which will seamlessly flow through to the bureau’s portal for approval, ready to sync back to the payroll software. No manual data entry needed.
Client payroll approval tool (Bureau users only)
Accountants can securely send their clients a payroll summary. Clients can then review and approve the payroll for the pay period through their online employer dashboard before the payroll is finalised.
